Fantastic Four!

Birthday 013

A sweet, big boy recently had a birthday. He requested going to the beach, despite it being windy and slightly rainy (hence the coat and water spot on the lens). But we still had fun! We later celebrated with the frozen pizza of his choice, a big, specialty cupcake, and lots of presents!

Barefoot in the Backyard

022 (2)

The number one thing that we looked at when finding a new place to live was that it MUST have a fenced in backyard. What a fantastic choice! Though the boys are too young for Momma to simply say “Go play in the backyard,” Momma and Daddy can do yard work, enjoy a drink, or tend to the vegetable garden while the boys play with their outdoor toys. We don’t worry too much about shoes out back, but partially because since Momma prefers to be barefoot, it might be hypocritical.

Cleaning Crew

003 (3)

I love that my boys are still of the age to bathe together (although I did request that the Big One strategically place the boat). The Big One can be entertained by a bath for at least 30 minutes, and also requests very hot water (like his Momma), while the Little One, if left to his own devices, will jump in and out of the water, and run around wet and naked. We have to be pretty vigilant about that…

(You’ll have to ignore the staining on the tub – it looks unclean, but it’s just old)

Boundless Boys

We were fortunate enough to also see Momma’s family in March too (it was quite the family month!). The boys’ GranT, Auntie, and Poppy were all vacationing in South Carolina, so we drove to meet them. While visiting, I captured this shot, which pretty much sums up our entire day to day life.

Boardwalk Babes

Another day trip with grandma was a trip to Myrtle Beach, since we were dropping her off at the airport in the evening. We spend the afternoon at Broadway at the Beach, where we bought the Big One a Build-A-Dino, since he’d been pining after the Little One’s dinosaur.

Crash.

002 (5)

The Little One is a pretty awful sleeper. For a one year old, the ten hours he gets is pathetic. Even our pediatrician sympathized with me. But he HAS started falling asleep on his own, typically on the couch. And it is always super adorable.

Ferry Fun

014

While grandma was in town visiting, we had a few day trips, including a trip to Southport, a local tourist town full of shops and tasty seafood restaurants. Though it takes the same time either way, the most fun way to get there is via ferry. The Big One used his binoculars (found at a campsite in Ohio) to explore the local seascape.

Egg Huntsmen

Hunting eggs at the local kids museum was a treat. The museum sets up special times for different age groups, so that the boys weren’t competing with older kids; they were able to find plenty of eggs! In addition, the boys got to spend a few hours at the museum with their cousins and burn off plenty of energy.

Friends and Cousins

038 (2)

At the end of March, the boys got to have a visit with their cousins. One day, we met the Big One’s best friend at the park, so in this picture, we have Little One, Big One, Best Friend, and Cousin enjoying an ice cream at the park.
