Egg Huntsmen

  051 (2) 064 - Copy

Hunting eggs at the local kids museum was a treat. The museum sets up special times for different age groups, so that the boys weren’t competing with older kids; they were able to find plenty of eggs! In addition, the boys got to spend a few hours at the museum with their cousins and burn off plenty of energy.

Baskets! – Easter Part IV

Corbin enjoying his basket

The boys are “opening” their baskets. We don’t do big, fancy, extravagant things, but a few toys and other useful items. The big hit of the Big One's bucket were the 35-cent plastic animals I found in the party favor section.

The Little One likes his new rattle, but isn’t too keen on the sippy cup. We may need to wait a month or so for that…

 His presents spread out.

Egg Dyeing – Easter Part II

This was the Big One’s first year dyeing Easter eggs. Momma thought that the traditional style egg dyeing might be a little boring – all that waiting for colors, and it’s hard to do anything cool. So Momma put food dye into muffin tins so that it was easy to switch eggs around and make interesting layers.

Trying an easy method to dye eggs.

Corbin seemed to enjoy watching the process.

Corbin is loving the egg dyeing!

The eggs turned out fantastic. Not entirely sure where the horizontal lines came from, but those aside, the eggs are gorgeous. Momma might be biased…

Gorgeous Eggs (I'm not sure what the horizontal stripes were about)

Egg Hunt – Easter Part I

Looking for eggs in the engine.

We took the Big One for an Easter Egg Hunt at our church. The day starts with the Easter story, and then picking up many, many eggs filled with jelly beans and tootsie rolls. Corbin didn’t quite grasp all the fun, but Momma wore him around for the hour and they got lots of cuddles in! It was a wonderful start to Easter weekend, and Momma is glad to start it with the Easter story.
