Cleaning Crew

003 (3)

I love that my boys are still of the age to bathe together (although I did request that the Big One strategically place the boat). The Big One can be entertained by a bath for at least 30 minutes, and also requests very hot water (like his Momma), while the Little One, if left to his own devices, will jump in and out of the water, and run around wet and naked. We have to be pretty vigilant about that…

(You’ll have to ignore the staining on the tub – it looks unclean, but it’s just old)

Ferry Fun

014

While grandma was in town visiting, we had a few day trips, including a trip to Southport, a local tourist town full of shops and tasty seafood restaurants. Though it takes the same time either way, the most fun way to get there is via ferry. The Big One used his binoculars (found at a campsite in Ohio) to explore the local seascape.

Fantastic Ferry

039 - Copy 044 - Copy

The Big One has been really interested in boats lately. We decided that a fun trip would be to take the Southport ferry. At $5 a vehicle, we made a round trip for $10, which was well worth the total hour trip. We watched the birds, the other boats and all the land between Fort Fisher and Southport pass by. It was a cloudy day, and a bit windy, which seems perfect for a ferry ride!

Watersports, Level: Beginner

Corbin learning about water. As a reward for helping with dishes (and a way to keep him busy while I cleaned...)

Letting the boys play with water in the kitchen while cleaning. Water is almost always fun. That’s why Momma moved close to the beach!
